HB 1702HB 896SB 1386, and SB 803 would clarify that children 10 and over have a right to counsel in child welfare cases and continue representation through permanency.


HB 1702 introduced and referred to Civil Law and Data Practices Policy on 2/27/17.  Committee recommended passage of substitute and referred to Public Safety and Security Policy and Finance committees on 3/13/17.

 

HB 896 introduced and referred to  Public Safety and Security Policy and Finance Committee on 2/9/17.  Committee adopted as amended and referred to Ways and Means Committee on 3/29/17.

 

SB 1386 introduced and referred to Judiciary and Public Safety Finance and Policy Committees on 2/23/17.  Committee recommended passage with amendments on 3/20/17.

 

SB 803 introduced and referred to Judiciary and Public Safety Finance and Policy on 2/9/17.  Committee passed as amended and referred to Finance Committee on 3/23/17.  Finance Committee passed as amended on 3/27/17.  Passed Senate on 3/28/17.  Referred to Senate Ways and Means Committee on 3/29/17.  Committee adopted as amended on 3/30/17.  House amended and passed on 4/3/17.  Senate did not concur, so conference of 5 requested on 4/3/17.
