D.C. Council Civil Right to Counsel Roundtable

On June 22 at 6-9 PM, the D.C. Council’s Committee on the Judiciary will be hosting a public roundtable called Considering Civil Gideon: Expanding Access to Justice in the District of Columbia [link to PDF flyer].  The event will feature a conversation about the need for a right to counsel, questions about the scope, the housing right to counsel pilot project currently running in D.C., and national trends.  These roundtables often lead to the filing of new legislation.
