HB2443: Although the bill is entitled “Right to Counsel Program”, the legislation would merely provide grants to legal services organizations to serve eligible individuals (those at or below 200% of FPL) in eviction matters, related proceedings, and housing discrimination cases, including by providing brief services. It does not purport to guarantee any class of individuals representation nor that all qualified individuals shall receive representation.
