MO legislature to consider several bills that would provide client-direct counsel for kids

In abuse cases, children in Missouri are currently entitled only to a guardian ad litem who is an attorney.  But during the 2024 legislative session, the Missouri legislature will consider several bills that would provide children with the right to client-directed counsel, including SB 1236, SB 801, and SB 1040.
