In August 2012, the Dignity in Schools Campaign released A Model Code on Education and Dignity that includes a recommendation for a right to counsel in school proceeding such as discipline, truancy, and special education.
The NCCRC drafted the right to counsel provisions in the Code, as well as the explanatory Appendix.
