Colorado report links housing, health, eviction right to counsel

08/07/2019 , Colorado , Report , Housing - Evictions

A report by the Colorado Health Institute looks at the links between housing instability and health and calls for Colorado (either at the state or cities level) to establish a right to counsel for tenants facing eviction.  The report notes that such a policy would promote both housing stability and affordability, and would benefit Low-income Coloradans, communities of color, families with children, people without documentation, and people with disabilities.

The NCCRC gave input to the content of the report's provisions relating to right to counsel.
