The Public Justice Center

The National Coalition for a Civil Right to Counsel (NCCRC) is a project of the Public Justice Center.

The Public Justice Center (PJC), based in Baltimore, MD, pursues systemic change to build a just society. Founded in 1985, the PJC uses legal tools to challenge poverty and racial inequity in Maryland and beyond. In 2003, the Public Justice Center joined four organizations (Shriver Center on Poverty Law, the Northwest Justice Project, the Brennan Center for Justice, and the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee of Legal Aid and Indigent Defense) to create the NCCRC.
