AB1019

02/01/2024 , California , Legislation , Custody Disputes - Children

AB1019: This bill would amend the family code to add a section prohibiting the court from entering an order requiring a child to be placed in a residential facility or program or to participate in services or therapy, whether residential or outpatient, without receiving consent of the child’s attorney. Appointment of an attorney for such a child is discretionary under the current law though, and no expansion or change to this was found.

Last action (on 02/01/2024): From committee: Filed with the Chief Clerk pursuant to Joint Rule 56.
