AB387: Under NRS 159A.045, appointment of counsel for kids in guardianship cases is discretionary. The bill would amend the appointment statute to specify that, if there is a legal aid organization in the jurisdiction that receives fees under NRS 19.031, the court must appoint an attorney [from the legal aid organization], unless the organization doesn’t have sufficient funding to support the appointment.
