HB 468 would have abolished civil forfeiture and provided a right to appointed counsel for indigent litigants in criminal forfeiture cases.
HB 689 and SB 1578 would have permitted a person not named in a forfeiture complaint who claims to have an interest in the property to intervene, and permit the court to appoint counsel for such person.
