SB 131, enacted in 2018, amends Ga. Code § 15-11-103(g)(3) to specify that a parent may only waive the right to counsel “provided that such waiver is made knowingly, voluntarily, and on the record.”
The NCCRC identified the issue and worked with advocates on introduction of the bill.
