Georgia , Legislation , Truancy - Petition Against Child

Pursuant to Ga. Code Ann. § 15-11-2(11)(a)(i), truancy in Georgia is treated as a child in need of services (CHINS) matter.  And pursuant to Ga. Code § 15-11-402(a), there is a right to appointed counsel regardless of indigence for children in CHINS proceedings.
