“Residential Tenant’s Right to Legal Representation Act” dies

S0512: In 2025, the Rhode Island legislature introduced SB 512, the “Residential Tenant’s Right to Legal Representation Act”, which would have provided legal representation to eligible tenants in eviction matters, administrative hearings for publicly subsidized housing tenants, or actions for unsafe or unhealthy conditions.  Unfortunately, the bill died in Committee.

The NCCRC submitted testimony in favor of the bill before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
