SB210

02/14/2024 , South Dakota , Legislation , Bypass of Parental Input into Abortion - Minor (Pre-Dobbs)

SB210: This bill provides that “[e]ach individual may make autonomous decisions about the individual’s own reproductive health, including a decision to use or refuse reproductive health care. Any individual who becomes pregnant may continue the pregnancy and give birth or exercise the individual’s right to have an abortion.” It would repeal the requirement that pregnant minors notify a parent to obtain an abortion, therefore negating the need for judicial bypass of the parental notification requirement for which minors currently have the right to counsel.
