Three eviction RTC bills introduced

In 2023, the South Carolina legislature introduced three bills that would have provided a right to counsel to tenants facing eviction. See HB 3844, HB 3140, and SB 887.  Though the bills carried over to 2024, all three died in their respective chamber’s Judiciary Committee at the end of session.
