UNC Law School human rights report flags lack of right to counsel in civil cases
A very comprehensive new report by UNC’s Human Rights Policy Seminar explains all the ways in which a lack of a right to counsel in basic human needs civil cases (as well as immigration cases, which it addresses separately) violates international human rights standards.
The report was picked up via an opinion piece in Al Jazeera America that in turn linked to a piece by NCCRC Coordinator John Pollock as well as the NCCRC website.
