Support Our Work

The NCCRC, which is operated by the Public Justice Center, celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023. And thanks to growing support from our partners and allies, we are busier than ever!  With over 600 participants and partners in 45 different states, and work all over the country, the NCCRC is leading the effort to expand the right to counsel in basic human needs cases such as shelter, safety, sustenance, health, and child custody.

Major Donors

We are pleased to announce that we received a significant commitment from Maryland Delegate Samuel I. Rosenberg: $15,000 per year for 8 years, starting in 2015.  In making this gift, Delegate Rosenberg hopes to inspire other donors to generously support the work of the NCCRC.

We also received a generous $20,000 donation in 2016  and $10,000 in each of 2017, 2018, and 2020 from Leah and Ben Spero (whom we've spotlighted).

Support for the NCCRC website

We are grateful to New York Law School and the American Bar Association's Standing Committee on Legal Aid and Indigent Defense for providing support to revamp the NCCRC website in 2021.  This revamp will help us keep serving as the primary national source for information on the right to counsel in civil cases.
