PA report calls for immigration right to counsel

10/01/2019, Report, Immigration

A report by Penn State Law School’s Center for Immigrant Rights Clinic found that 77% of detained immigrants in Pennsylvania lack representation and are four times less likely to seek relief because of it. It calls for a right to counsel like NYC's Immigrant Family Unity Project, which has expanded to other cities in the country through the Vera Institute's SAFE Network.

The release of the report was covered in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
