Chattanooga tenant rep pilot demonstrates impressive results

A report by the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga analyzed the Eviction Prevention Initiative running from January - June 2023 and found that:

• 67% of represented families avoided evictions on their records;
• The dismissal rate was 53% for families with representation, compared to 29% for pro se tenants;
• 24 households obtained a combined $193k in federal funds and $141k in flex fund/local funds;
• Of the 60 cases that graduated from case managent:
• 27 of 60 remained housed;
• 16 of 60 were successfully rehoused;
• 10 of 60 received assistance with transitional housing after an eviction.
