Discretionary appointment of counsel

Alaska Stat. § 47.10.050 says a court may appoint counsel for a child in a CINA case if "it appears to the court that the welfare of a child will be promoted by the appointment of an attorney to represent the child. Alaska Stat. § 47.10.010 adds that the court "may appoint an attorney to represent the legal interests of the child, and may order support from either or both parents."
